Popcorn Time Not Working? Find the Part That Failed

Separate search, page loading, app-version errors and video playback problems so the next check is useful.

The website opens, but the film is missing

Clear your search filters, shorten the title and try its original name. A production-country filter does not mean viewing availability in that country. Search results are limited to this catalog; no result does not establish that a film is unavailable everywhere.

The title opens, but Watch now looks wrong

Check the viewing country and compare the name, year and format on the destination page. A film and series may share a name. If the destination search shows several results, choose the production that matches the details you just read.

A native app shows an API or server error

That message comes from the application you installed. Note its exact version and the error wording before following its project documentation. An old catalog API error is different from this website failing to load, and replacing a browser bookmark cannot repair an installed app's server configuration.

The video buffers or captions disappear

Use the help for the player that is actually showing the video. Test another title, check the connection and reselect the audio or subtitle track. Keep your saved list intact while testing. Clearing all browser data is not a useful first move when the issue is in a separate viewing service.
